What type of grease should be used for high-speed bearings?
To prevent friction between moving and stationary components, the application of grease is essential.
High-temperature, high-speed bearing grease utilizes a hybrid (PAO + Ester) polyurea-thickened formulation. This technology is specially designed and refined through the incorporation of various additives—including extreme pressure, anti-wear, anti-oxidation, and anti-corrosion agents—to ensure optimal performance and stability for bearings (specifically those with balls or light-load rollers) operating under high-temperature conditions. Key characteristics of this product include excellent mechanical shear stability, rust prevention, and resistance to additive separation (settling); it provides exceptional protection under the demanding conditions associated with high temperatures and high rotational speeds.

What type of grease should be used for high-speed bearings?
High-speed bearings require the specific selection of a suitable, specialized grease. High-speed bearing grease is a distinct category of lubricant engineered to meet rigorous performance criteria, including superior lubricity, low friction, minimal temperature rise during operation, and long-term durability.
Grease serves to minimize mechanical friction and prevent material degradation (such as metal aging), while also acting as a seal to prevent leaks of air, oil, or water, thereby ensuring the proper and reliable operation of mechanical equipment. When selecting a suitable grease, the following factors should generally be taken into consideration:
- Temperature: Temperature exerts a significant influence on grease performance. If the ambient environment or the mechanical equipment itself operates at elevated temperatures, a high-temperature-resistant grease should be selected.
- Rotational Speed: Components operating at high rotational speeds experience rapid and substantial temperature increases. This thermal stress can cause the grease to thin out and subsequently leak or be expelled from the bearing. Therefore, a grease with a higher consistency (thicker viscosity) should be selected.
- Load: The load-bearing capacity of a grease is directly correlated with its penetration value (consistency). For applications involving heavy loads, a grease with a lower penetration value (i.e., a higher consistency or stiffness) should be selected.
