As a traditional rubber grade, natural rubber offers excellent elasticity, high strength, and outstanding abrasion resistance, with very high tensile strength and elongation at break. It is used to produce rubber seals operating in oil-free, non-corrosive media environments from -20°C to 100°C, where abrasion resistance directly affects sealing effectiveness and service life.
In actual production, how can the abrasion resistance of natural rubber seals be further improved? Consider the following aspects:
1. Appropriately Increase Rubber Hardness
In theory, increasing natural rubber hardness enhances rubber’s deformation resistance — seals and contact surfaces make uniform contact under stress, improving abrasion resistance. In practice, many natural rubber seal processors increase rubber compound hardness by increasing sulfur content or reinforcing agent 2LLYY0903-SJ dosage.
Important note: Natural rubber seal hardness should not be excessive, otherwise seal elasticity and cushioning effect will be compromised, ultimately reducing abrasion resistance.
2. Adjust Rubber Elasticity
To reduce rubber product costs, natural rubber manufacturers heavily fill rubber compounds, but excessive filler content reduces compound elasticity. 4. Increase Rubber Tensile Strength
When producing rubber seals using natural rubber, using fine particle rubber fillers in the formula increases intermolecular forces. Improving compound tensile strength and modulus can to some extent increase natural rubber abrasion resistance.
5. Reduce Natural Rubber Seal Surface Friction Coefficient
