Polyurea Grease
Polyurea grease is generally a grease thickened with an organic compound composed of two or more polyurea groups (-NH-CO-NH-). Due to its excellent heat and water resistance, it is used in continuous casting equipment and rolling mills in steel plants, and is a representative type of non-soap-based grease.
Additionally, it is frequently used in automobiles and electrical components. In high-temperature environments where lithium soap greases cannot withstand, high-temperature, long-life greases based on synthetic oils are used.
Bentonite Grease
Because it uses organic bentonite as a thickener, it is called “non-drip grease” or “non-melting grease,” and can maintain a solidified state even at very high temperatures.
It excels primarily in shear stability, and other properties are also excellent. However, its rust prevention performance is slightly weaker. Under prolonged exposure to temperatures above 200°C, it will harden, and the spinning surfaces of bearings operating at high speeds will become dry.
Other non-soap-based greases
In addition to the above, there are other non-soap-based greases such as sodium phthalate, phthalocyanine bronze, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), mica, and silicone gel.
